Malak Persenk from Persenk Hut

Trail description

Persenk hut (1,750 m, with water and electricity) lies in the Chernatitsa part of the Rhodopes and is reached via the villages of Hvoyna, Orehovo and Malevo. Marked routes lead from the hut to Malak Persenk (2,074 m) in about 1.5 hours, one of them following a restored Roman road to the Mezargidik pass. The rhyolite summit is covered in dense conifer forest but opens a fine panorama to the south.
