Trail description

From Yane Sandanski hut at Popina Laka, 18 km of asphalt from Sandanski, a blue-marked trail reaches Begovitsa hut in about 2 hours, then climbs the grassy Begovishki cirque to the Begovishki saddle below Kamenitsa (2,822 m), the fifth highest summit in Pirin. No marked route crosses the summit itself; its south side is stony but gentler than the rocky north face. At 10 km and over 1,600 m of climbing one way, this is a long, demanding day.
