Trail description

The eagle nest of Bulgarian monasteries, clinging to a crag high above the Vit valley. The trail climbs through the village of Malak Izvor and past the hamlet of Gorni Miryovets, then through hornbeam forest to the fortified cloister of St George where the revolutionary Vasil Levski once hid. The view drops sheer to the Teteven Balkan foothills.
