Fortaleza Nova Brasília Ilha do Mel

Trail description

Walks from the Nova Brasília pier on Ilha do Mel north along the island's trail, the Caminho da Figueira, to the Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres, a Portuguese fort built in 1767 to 1769 on the beach at the foot of Morro da Baleia. The fort is open to the public and managed by IPHAN, with a small museum in the guard house and a viewpoint above it.
