Cachoeira da Fumaça from Vale do Capão

Trail description

Starts at the end of Rua Cachoeira da Fumaça in Vale do Capão (Caeté-Açu), Chapada Diamantina, with a big climb up the serra that eases once on top, then crosses the plateau to the lip of the Cachoeira da Fumaça, a drop of about 340 m. The trail is roughly 6 km each way and of reasonable difficulty. Visits are managed by the Vale do Capão guides association, and Wikipedia advises not to walk it without a guide after hikers got lost in 2023.
