Trail description
A 5.8 km loop with 16 m of climb in Landschap De Liereman between Oud-Turnhout and Arendonk, one of the oldest nature reserves in Belgium. From the Lieremanweg it crosses the Hoge Mierdse Heide on a heath footpath, passes close to the lookout tower and returns by the Oude Bergstraat and the Duitse Weg, mostly on sandy tracks. Natuurpunt's reserve is a mix of heath, grassland, drift-sand dunes and fens, grazed by Konik horses, Galloway cattle and sheep, with a visitor centre open all year. Walkers must stay on the marked paths, and dogs must be kept on a lead.
