Trail description

A 2.5 km ridge walk on the Höhenpromenade from the Schmittenhöhe summit station, at 1,965 m, north to the Sonnkogel above Zell am See, on paths and gravel tracks. From the ridge the view takes in more than 30 three-thousanders, the Zeller See and the valley basin, and reaches into the Saalach valley. The Schmittenhöhebahn cable car, opened in 1927, climbs to the summit from Zell am See.
