Hochstuhl from Bärental via the Klagenfurter Hütte

Trail description

A 9 km climb of about 1,380 m from Bärental past the Klagenfurter Hütte to the Hochstuhl at 2,237 m, the highest summit of the Karawanks on the Slovenian border. The first 3 km follow the forest road up the Bärental; above the hut the path crosses the Bielschitzasattel and the final climb is steep and rocky. The summit looks over the Drau valley, the Julian Alps and the Tauern.
