Trail description

A 1.5 km walk of about 80 m of climbing over Mount Gibraltar, 863 m, the ridge between Bowral and Mittagong in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Known locally as the Gib, it has a large nature reserve on its top and is thought to be a collapsed volcanic core. Its Aboriginal name is Bowrell, meaning a high place, and the explorer John Wilson climbed it in 1798.
