Trail description

The classic climb of Mount Bogong, at 1,986 m the highest mountain in Victoria, from the Mountain Creek campsite up the steep Staircase Spur through snow gum forest to the bare summit plateau. It is a long, hard day with about 1,300 m of climbing. The top is exposed and snow-covered in winter, when the climb needs alpine gear.
