Trail description
A three to five-day walk in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park from the Lyell Highway over the Franklin River, across the buttongrass plains and past Lake Vera to Lake Tahune hut, then up to the white quartzite dome of Frenchmans Cap at 1,446 m, above a 300 m cliff. Most walkers stay at the Lake Vera and Lake Tahune huts. Walkers must register; the weather changes fast and the track can be very muddy.
