Shatin to Shativank

Trail description

A short climb on the historic route through the gorge between the village of Shatin and the fortified monastery of Shativank, part of the Transcaucasian Trail. From the trailhead panels by the river the path climbs steadily as the gorge narrows, crossing the stream a couple of times. On the final approach the valley opens and the trail branches, so a short steep climb to the dirt road above leads to the monastery. About 2.7 km with some 350 m of ascent.
