Selim Caravanserai to Hors

Trail description

The northern stage of the Transcaucasian Trail through Vayots Dzor, starting at the 14th century Selim (Orbelian) caravanserai on the old Silk Road. From the pass the route follows jeep tracks up onto the Vardenyats ridge, tracing the border between Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor with wide views south. It then descends past the Hors conservation area visitor centre through meadows and woodland to the village of Hors. A long day of about 20 km, mostly on 4x4 tracks with several water sources.
