Madan to Koshaberd Fortress

Trail description

A blazed trail in Lori from the village of Madan, with its old Greek church, to Koshaberd, a 10th to 13th century fortress also known as Madan fortress. The ruined walls stand on a hard to reach spur of the Virahayots mountains above Alaverdi. From the top the views take in the monasteries of Sanahin and Haghpat, Odzun, Kayan fortress, Mount Lalvar and the Debed gorge. The round trip is about 12 km.
