Lake Akna from Aghmaghan

Trail description

A long walk from Aghmaghan up the jeep tracks of the Geghama range to Lake Akna (3031 m), a crater lake below Azhdahak, the highest summit of the range. The tracks cross wide high pastures where Yezidi herders keep summer camps. Snow can lie around the lake until June, and the altitude of about 3,000 m makes the last part slow.
