Trail description
A forest walk of about 3 km north from the village of Buzhakan to Teghenyats monastery, on the southern foothills of the Tsaghkunyats mountains at around 2,100 m. The monastery grew between the 7th and 17th centuries and flourished in the 12th and 13th, when a scriptorium was set up. Its Katoghike church with a peacock relief, a gavit built in 1207, the scriptorium and the refectory survive, with a 7th century cruciform church just to the east.
