Trail description
A 1.3 km walk with about 40 m of climbing from near the Pucará viewpoint through the Pucará de Tilcara to its entrance and down to the Río Huasamayo on the edge of Tilcara. The pre-Inca hilltop fortress was sited to be easily defended and to give long views over the Quebrada de Humahuaca. It was declared a National Monument in 2000 and has been partly rebuilt.
