Cerro El Matadero Tafí

Trail description

A 7.4 km climb of about 675 m from near Tafí del Valle up the ridge to the Alto del Matadero at about 2,800 m, on the edge of the Valles Calchaquíes protected area. Tafí del Valle is the main town of its department in the west of Tucumán, 126 km from San Miguel de Tucumán. Its original name, Taktikllakta, seems to mean 'town of the magnificent entrance'.
