Trail description
A 3.3 km climb of about 540 m from the end of the paved Acceso Cerro Arco at El Challao, on the edge of Mendoza, up a hill path and the last stretch of the access road to the summit of Cerro Arco and the Mirador Antonio Arcos. The precordillera hill rises to 1,668 m and is named after Sergeant Major Antonio Arcos, aide-de-camp to General José de San Martín, who surveyed the area before the Crossing of the Andes. Its slopes carry algarrobo, jarilla, chañar and many cacti on Triassic sandstones and conglomerates. The summit is known for its many television and radio antennas, whose lights mark it at night.
