Maja e Taraboshit from Shiroka

Trail description

Tarabosh is the long ridge between Lake Shkodra and the Buna river, and the climb from the lakeside village of Shiroka is the best short hike near Shkodër. The path passes old bunkers and an abandoned military post on the way to the summit at about 595 m, and the top gives a full panorama of Shkodër, Rozafa castle, the lake and the Buna and Drin rivers. Allow 2.5 to 4 hours return. It is walkable most of the year but hot on summer afternoons, and lovely at sunset. Shiroka is 7 km from Shkodër by road.
