Maja e Partizanit on Tomorr

Trail description

This is the hard way up Tomorr, the holy mountain above Berat, to its highest point, Çuka e Partizanit (2,416 m). From the village of Dardhë on the north side, a long 4x4 drive from Berat, the path climbs through alpine valleys and old pines, then over steep gravel and loose scree past snow holes that keep snow all summer. It gains more than 1,450 m and takes about 7 hours to the top, so plan a full day. Only fit, experienced hikers should attempt it, in summer or early autumn.
