Trail description

Maja e Çikës (2,044 m) is the highest point of the Ceraunian Mountains, and the classic route climbs to it from the Llogara Pass through wind-bent black pines and then along an open ridge high above the Ionian Sea. The hike is about 14 km return with some 1,400 m of ascent, which takes 6 to 8 hours. Clouds often settle on the ridge and the path is faint in places, so start early and carry an offline map. Late spring to autumn is the season. The trailhead is by the Panorama restaurant on the Vlorë to Himarë road, where buses between the two towns pass.
