Trail description

A long, demanding traverse of the Ceraunian Mountains from the Llogara Pass over Maja e Çikës (2,044 m), the highest point of the range, and down to the hill village of Pilur above Himarë. After a steep climb through pine forest you follow high pastures with huge views over the Ionian Sea before a very long descent. It covers about 26 km with some 1,700 m of ascent and takes around 10.5 hours, best from April to October. There is no reliable water on the route, and no bus runs from Pilur, so arrange a pickup or taxi to Himarë.
