Trail description
Pico Naiguatá, 2,765 m, is the highest point of the Coastal Range, in Parque Nacional Waraira Repano (El Ávila). From the Hotel Humboldt at the top of the teleférico, the route passes Lagunazo and Pico Oriental, then follows the Fila Maestra ridge east, which a trekking blog rates among the Ávila's toughest for dense vegetation, confusing junctions and a rocky final stretch. There is no water on the Fila Maestra, so fill up at Lagunazo, and National Guard checkpoints may ask for ID.
