Páramo El Rosal to Pino Ciprés and Campamento del Bobo

Trail description

The walk starts at La Cortada, the 3,173 m high point of the La Grita to San José de Bolívar road above Páramo El Rosal, where a cross and Inparques signs mark the entry to Parque Nacional General Juan Pablo Peñaloza. Mostly gentle open páramo with several places to refill water leads down to the Pino Ciprés camp at about 3,330 m, the Inparques approved campsite beside the Río Bobo stream, and on to Campamento del Bobo. Nights can drop to about 0°C.
