Rwenzori Central Circuit Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut

Trail description

The first stage of the Rwenzori Central Circuit, 8.5 km from the trailhead at Nyakalengija up into Rwenzori Mountains National Park to the Nyabitaba Hut at about 2,650 m. The seven-day circuit is the most popular trek in the Mountains of the Moon, whose Margherita Peak is Africa's third highest at 5,109 m; the park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.
