Fredberg and Fredgrot Trail

Trail description

Fredberg is a 380 m rainforest mountain in Boven-Saramacca, between the Upper and Little Saramacca rivers west of the Brokopondo reservoir, reached from a base camp on the Saramacca river off the road toward Atjoni. This 4.6 km route with about 100 m of climbing follows the Fredberg and Fredgrot paths toward the cave behind the mountain. Visits run as organised multi-day guided tours from Paramaribo, sleeping in hammocks.
