Trail description

A walk of about 40 minutes from the jetty village on Pulau Ubin along Jalan Ubin and Jalan Durian to Chek Jawa Wetlands, the 100-hectare wetland on the island's south-eastern tip. The line then follows a path near the shore and the mangrove boardwalk to the 21 m Jejawi Tower. Chek Jawa is one of the last places in Singapore with a natural rocky shore, and sandy beach, seagrass lagoon, mangroves and coastal forest can all be seen in one area. Reclamation plans were called off in 2001 after a volunteer biodiversity survey, and the boardwalk is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
