Prekonoška Pećina

Trail description

A short marked path near Prekonoga village, about 5 km from Svrljig, leads to Prekonoška cave in the Svrljig mountains at around 700 m. Studied by Jovan Cvijić, Josif Pančić and Felix Kanitz, it became the first cave in Serbia opened to tourist visits and has yielded Palaeolithic tools and cave bear bones. From the pass a fenced path drops about 100 m to the larger lower entrance; take water in the village.
