Trail description
Inland from Safotu on Savai'i, a rugged track climbs past the hut of the Craterman, who collects an entry fee (about 20 tala), to the rim of Mt Matavanu, the volcano of the 1905 to 1911 eruptions. The last section is a short walk over rocks and roots to views into the forested crater. Closed on Sundays.
