Puerto Ferro Lighthouse (Vieques)

Trail description

This flat 4.0 km walk follows gravel roads through the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge to the ruined Faro de Puerto Ferro on a bluff near Puerto Mosquito. The lighthouse was first lit in 1896 and abandoned in 1926; it is fenced and can only be seen from outside, and a short path leads down to a small beach. The route is in full sun, the crumbly cliff edges have no railings, and the refuge is open daily from 7 am until dusk.
