From Capitol Hill, the rough, rocky Tapochau Road winds uphill to the summit of Mount Tapochau (474 m), the highest point on Saipan, with a 360-degree view of the island, a statue of Jesus and plaques about the Battle of Saipan. The road is also driven by 4WD vehicles; the heat and humidity make the climb strenuous.
