Solunska Glava from Cheples Hut

Trail description

Solunska Glava (about 2,540 m) is the highest summit of the Jakupica massif, and the classic ascent starts at the Cheples mountain hut (about 1,410 m) above Nezhilovo. The path climbs through a dense beech forest, then leaves the trees and follows the ridge over Dolna Babina Dupka and Gorna Babina Dupka, with views of the huge Nezhilovi Steni rock walls. It is about 7 km one way with roughly 1,100 m of ascent, around 4 hours up and 3 down. Government installations stand on the summit, and the top looks out over the Pelagonia valley and the mountains of central Macedonia.
