Volcán El Hoyo from Cerro Negro

Trail description

A climb of about 5.2 km and 500 m from the Los Maribios interpretation centre at the foot of Cerro Negro, near León, through the Pilas-El Hoyo reserve to the campsite below the crater of Volcán El Hoyo. Most walkers camp there overnight and go on to Laguna El Tigre, a crater lake further east, on the second day; there is no water on the way, so carry all you need.
