Volcán Cosigüina from Potosí

Trail description

A climb of about 9.7 km and 740 m from Potosí on the Gulf of Fonseca to the eastern rim of the Cosigüina crater, in the far north-west of Nicaragua. From the rim you look down 500 m to the crater lake and out over the gulf to El Salvador and Honduras; the forest path is dry and hot, so start early and carry plenty of water.
