Playa Masachapa

Trail description

Short loop from the main park of Masachapa, a fishing village on the Pacific coast of San Rafael del Sur about 67 km south of Managua, out to the El Faro viewpoint above the beach and back. Masachapa and neighbouring Pochomil are the favourite beaches of people from Managua. Local fishermen land their boats on the sand and sell the day's catch, and rock formations break up the shore. Artisans make jewellery and lamps from local shells.
