Peña de la Cruz, Jinotega

Trail description

A pilgrims' path from the cemetery on the west side of Jinotega up a cobbled way and steps to the Peña de la Cruz, a cross placed by friar Margil de Jesús in 1703. The climb takes about 30 to 60 minutes and the top has views over Jinotega and the surrounding mountains. On 3 May a pilgrimage goes to the top for the Fiesta de la Cruz.
