Trail description

From the end of North Block Road west of Waipawa the Sunrise Track climbs steadily through beech forest in Ruahine Forest Park to Sunrise Hut near the bushline, a popular spot to watch the sun rise over Hawke's Bay. The walk is 11.2 km out and back with about 770 m of climbing. The hut is a DOC hut that must be booked for overnight stays.
