Trail description
A short walk of 2.6 km out and back with about 110 m of climbing from the car park off the Chaslands Highway in the Catlins, down through coastal forest to Waipati Beach and along the sand to the Cathedral Caves, two linked sea caves in the cliffs at the end of the beach. The caves can only be reached for about two hours either side of low tide. They are on Māori-owned land, a small fee is charged, and the access is closed in winter.
