Trail description
The short, steep route from Yahoué, between Nouméa and Dumbéa, to the 642 m summit of Pic Malaoui, the peak locals call the Chapeau de Gendarme. The climb passes from rainforest to scrub and is demanding, with chains fitted on some slippery sections. Allow about 3 to 4 hours return.
