Parakeet Trail Black River Gorges

Trail description

A 5.5 km descent from the Plaine Champagne road on the Parakeet Trail, one of the named trails of the Black River Gorges National Park, finishing on the Macchabée Trail at the Grande Rivière Noire information centre. The park, proclaimed in 1994, has about 60 km of trails and is home to all of the island's endemic birds, including the Mauritius parakeet and the pink pigeon.
