Trail description

This marked ONF trail through the Pitons du Carbet forest links the Route de la Trace (N3) near Morne-Rouge with the D1 on the Gros-Morne side, following a ridge of tall trees, vines and tree ferns before dropping to the Lorrain River, crossed on a suspension bridge near the Trou d'eau pool. The ground is often muddy and slippery, and the climb back out of the river valley is the hardest part. The route is linear, so leave a car at each end or turn back at the river.
