Sentier des Caps (Sainte-Anne)

Trail description

This section of the Trace des Caps on Martinique's southern tip runs past the Savane des Pétrifications, an arid, almost desert-like plateau of cracked soil, cacti and reddish volcanic rock above the cliffs of Pointe d'Enfer. The walk is easy and flat but almost entirely in full sun, and the stones at the stream crossing are slippery. Wear proper shoes rather than flip-flops and carry plenty of water and sun protection.
