Piton Lacroix by the Trace de Caplet

Trail description

A steep climb of about 2.4 km and 710 m from the end of the Grand Fond forest road on the Trace de Caplet to Piton Lacroix, at 1,196 m the highest of the Pitons du Carbet. The muddy path climbs through dense rainforest, with ropes and roots to hold on the steep parts, and the summit, often in cloud, looks over the whole centre of Martinique.
