Trail description

A 16 km climb from the Likhubula Forestry Office, on the south-western side of the Mulanje Massif, up onto the plateau and across it to Sapitwa, at 3,002 m the highest point in Malawi. The massif is a large inselberg of rolling grassland at 1,800 to 2,200 m cut by deep forested ravines, home to the endangered Mulanje cedar; Sapitwa, first climbed in 1894, is the most popular climb on the plateau.
