Čužu Bog Trail

Trail description

This 2.5 km trail crosses the Čužu bog nature reserve on the southern edge of Kandava, in the Abava Valley nature park, which protects the only natural site of shrubby cinquefoil in Latvia. A boardwalk spans the wettest part of the bog, while the rest follows dirt roads and paths from the parking area on Sēravotu iela. It is one of the few Latvian bogs with sulphur springs, and old freshwater lime pits survive as shallow ponds.
