Būšnieki Lake Nature Trail

Trail description

This 8.3 km loop circles Lake Būšnieki on the northern edge of Ventspils, a shallow 330 ha lagoon lake formed between dunes only about 1.5 km from the Baltic Sea, with a Natura 2000 reserve on its western shore. The well-kept trail suits walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users, and a 187 m walkway over the marshy shore leads to a birdwatching platform. Along the way are swimming and picnic spots, a fitness trail with 10 exercise stands, bicycle parking and boat rental.
