Trail description

A 5.8 km climb on the trail to Koitoboss, at 4,222 m a flat-topped basalt column on the rim of the Mount Elgon caldera, one of the largest intact calderas in the world. The peak stands on the border between Kenya and Uganda, and the Kenyan side of the mountain is protected as Mount Elgon National Park.
