Trail description

La Vallée des Vaux is a wooded valley on the northern edge of St Helier, cared for by the National Trust for Jersey, whose founders set out in 1936 to stop its development; the Trust's first gift of land, Le Don Le Gallais, is woodland here. The walk follows the quiet valley lane up from the town and climbs a woodland track through mixed oak, beech, sycamore and sweet chestnut, where red squirrels and great spotted woodpeckers live.
