Trail description
A long climb from Tretes in East Java up the forest track to the Pondokan camp, used by the sulphur miners, and over the bare upper slopes to the steaming 3,156 m summit of Mount Welirang. About 22.7 km out and back with some 2,310 m of climbing; most walkers take two days and camp at Pondokan. Register at the Tretes post of the Raden Soerjo forest park.
